Spectrasonics Trilian Library v1.0

Trilian: The Ultimate Bass Solution from Spectrasonics Trilian is a comprehensive bass solution from Spectrasonics that combines various bass types into one powerful virtual instrument. Designed from the ground up, Trilian is the most versatile bass instrument available today. It offers expressive, real-time performance for both acoustic and electric basses, along with cutting-edge synth bass tones. With advanced editing tools and exceptional sound quality, Trilian exceeds its predecessor, Trilogy. It offers more control over musical expression and greater flexibility in sound shaping. Trilian’s 34GB library is 10 times larger than Trilogy’s and includes all-new acoustic, electric, and synth bass sounds. Powered by the next-generation STEAM Engine, Trilian is the first instrument to integrate its core library with Omnisphere. This allows you to use Trilian’s sounds within the Omnisphere environment for enhanced sound design and keyboard/bass splits. As Eric Persing, Spectrasonics’ Founder and Creative Director, says, “We’ve always been passionate about bass sounds. Our first product 15 years ago was the best-selling Bass Legends sample library. In 2002, we introduced Trilogy, the world’s first bass virtual instrument. Now, we’re excited to release Trilian, which represents a new generation of bass development.”

Performance

Trilian’s acoustic and electric basses are sampled in great detail. The software automatically selects the right legato and release articulations as you play. The extensive use of ‘Round-Robin’ variations ensures more natural-sounding bass lines, even with repeated notes. New dynamic slide samples allow notes to glide from one to another in a realistic way. Each bass includes multi-channel mixing, with phase-locked microphone/amp and direct outputs, adding depth to your performance.

Bass Instruments

Trilian offers over sixty electric basses in 4, 5, 6, and 8-string variations. It includes fingered, picked, fretless, slapped, tapped, and muted techniques. This variety ensures you can find the right sound for any genre. Notable basses include the Music Man™ 5-string Studio Bass, Chapman Stick®, Lakland™ Rock P-Bass, Clean Fender® Jazz Bass, Hardcore Rock Bass, and Retro 1960s Epiphone® Viola Bass, among others. Trilian’s Acoustic Bass is the most detailed instrument Spectrasonics has ever created. With four audio channels and over 21,000 samples, it brings a new level of realism to your performances.

Sound Creation

For synth basses, Trilian includes newly developed 4-pole “Juicy” and “Power” filter algorithms. These filters provide rich oscillating resonance, ideal for electronic bass tones. The sound sources were created using over 30 of the most iconic hardware synthesizers, from Moog® Taurus Pedals to modern boutique analog synths. Trilian offers powerful editing controls, including the “FlexMod” modulation system, dual filters with 19+ filter types, six multistage looping envelopes, six full-featured LFOs, dual morphing modulation, and a modifiable FX rack. Trilian’s FX racks feature all the renowned processors from Omnisphere and Stylus RMX. These include amp and speaker models, distortions, dynamics processors, equalizers, chorus, phasers, flangers, delays, reverbs, and unique specialty effects.

Legacy

As Spectrasonics' next-generation bass instrument, Trilian includes enhanced and remastered versions of Trilogy’s core library. It elevates sound and expression to a new level. Additionally, Trilian includes remastered multisamples from Bass Legends, featuring performances by famous bassists Abraham Laboriel, John Patitucci, and Marcus Miller. These sounds were once available on popular Roland expansion boards and the classic MBD-1 rack bass module.

Integration

Trilian is the first virtual instrument to integrate its core library with Spectrasonics’ award-winning Omnisphere synthesizer. This integration allows you to load Trilian’s full sound library within Omnisphere, expanding your synthesis and performance possibilities. Trilian’s Arpeggiator features Groove Lock technology. This feature, pioneered in Omnisphere and Stylus RMX’s Time Designer, allows bass patterns created in Trilian to be perfectly synchronized with all three Spectrasonics instruments with just a drag-and-drop action.

User Interface

Trilian’s new Custom Controls interface on the main page of each patch highlights the most useful sound-modifying controls. A single control can modify multiple parameters at once, creating unique effects. All Custom Controls are MIDI-learnable and automatable. Users can also create their own configurations to suit their needs.
